Our Story
Barrier Builders was founded by Tyler Kedrowski and a group of colleagues who spent years building offices and teams within the roofing industry before deciding it was time to do things their own way. After a change in ownership at their previous company shifted priorities away from homeowners, Tyler and his team set out to start something different: a company small enough to care, but experienced enough to deliver.
That experience shows in every job we take on. We built our business around honest pricing, fast turnaround, and a genuine commitment to protecting the homes and families we serve. “Building the barrier that protects your home” is not just a tagline. Chief of Production
Luis Sanchez leads production at Barrier Builders, making sure every job runs the way it should from the first tear-off to the final walkthrough. Before roofing, he served in the Navy as an electrician, and that background still shows up in how he runs a site, methodical, detail-driven, no shortcuts. He likes being hands-on through the whole process, start to finish, alongside the homeowner. Born and raised in Naples, he calls Sarasota home now, where he lives with his wife and their two kids. Ask around the office and you’ll hear the same thing: the guy doesn’t stop working, even when he probably should. Weekends, he’s usually out on the water with a rod in hand.
Chief Sales Officer
JR Ford serves as Barrier Builders’ Chief Sales Officer, bringing five years of roofing experience and a people-first approach to every homeowner he works with. He enjoys helping customers navigate the roofing process, turning what can be a stressful situation into one they can feel confident about. Just as importantly, JR is passionate about mentoring others and enjoys seeing teammates grow both professionally and personally.
Originally from Kentucky, JR now calls Sarasota home. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him watching/playing basketball or football, relaxing at the beach, or spending time with his wife, son, and their two dogs. He believes continuous growth is the key to success in both work and life.
Insurance Resolution department
Kristian Jolly works insurance resolution at Barrier Builders, and the part of the job that keeps him going is simple: making sure homeowners actually get what they’re owed. Eight years in the industry have made him someone who knows how to navigate a claims process that can otherwise feel like a maze, and he takes it seriously because a new roof is often tied to something bigger, a homeowner’s peace of mind, their home goals, their whole plan. New York born, raised in New Jersey, he calls Tampa home now with his wife Caroline. Outside of work you’ll find him fishing, on the boat, or at the beach, and if you ask where to grab a slice in Safety Harbor, he’ll point you straight to Nona’s.
Production lead
Carlos Rivas manages production at Barrier Builders, and he’ll tell you the best part of the job is that first conversation with a homeowner, meeting them, hearing the problem, and handing them a real solution. Seven years in the trade have taken him from New York to California to Tampa, and he brings a straight-shooting, easygoing approach to every job site, no runaround, no guessing games. Outside of work he’s usually fishing or spending time with his wife Andrea and their two kids, Scarlett and Sutton, with a third on the way. He also rides motorcycles when he gets the chance. Ask around and people will tell you the same thing: hardworking, and impossible not to like.
Chief Marketing Officer
Tom Coutant leads marketing at Barrier Builders, and the part of the job he likes most is the same thing he’s chasing for the company overall: building something people genuinely enjoy being part of. Five years in the industry have given him a good sense of what actually helps a homeowner feel taken care of, and he spends most of his time getting creative, solving problems, and looking for the next way to do that better. Originally from upstate New York, he’s put down roots in Punta Gorda, where you’ll usually find him at the gym, out in nature, or cooking something up at home with his girlfriend Maria and their two rescue dogs, Rosie and Lola.
Owner/CEO
Tyler Kedrowski owns and runs Barrier Builders, and after eight years in the industry, the part of the job he still loves most is showing up on install day, watching a home come together and watching a new sales rep grow into the role right alongside it. He’s built the company around a simple idea: effort is the whole game, you don’t get better or get where you’re going without it. Born and raised just outside Minneapolis, he’s put down roots in Naples now with his fiancée and their two kids, Penelope and Archie, who are pretty much the reason he shows up and gives it everything. Outside of work, which he’ll admit isn’t often, he’s collecting sports cards, watching the Vikings, and spending time with his family. And despite spending his career on rooftops, he’ll be the first to tell you: heights still freak him out.
